ARRL Sweepstakes CW 2008 Contest results

by Dave Kalahar 11/4/2008 8:17:00 PM

Just so you know, I stink at CW.  I can't run effectively at all.  When search and pouncing and I get all I need because I can hear it several times.  So this is almost always mostly S&P. This was another switch to try Low Power again in this contest  (with new FT-950 radio) after doing QRP the last couple of years.   (The radio rocks.  It pulls out weak signals and I can work stations on top of each other with ease.)

15-meters was a good place to start.  I was very happy with my 80-meter performance.  With my limited operating time, pretty much only heard the "Big Guns" at first.  I had three hours of op time on Sunday afternoon and found several loud QRP stations.  40-meters was open very early and I need to keep that in mind for future years.

I'm looking forward to the SSB weekend.
